Simple Burger Seasoning

We have used this burger seasoning recipe for years but always thought it was pretty common, until friends recently commented out loud about how good our simple grilled burgers were, and they asked what we seasoned them with. Since it is summer, with the 4th coming up soon, we thought we would add it to the food blog.

This is just like our steak seasoning. We mix it in larger batches than the recipe indicates, and we keep it in a large shaker in the spice drawer. It’s simple but very good, and better than those we have tried off the shelf for many years.

1 Tablespoon Kosher Salt

2 Teaspoons Paprika

2 Teaspoons Brown Sugar

1/2 Teaspoon Dried Thyme

1 1/2 Teaspoons Onion Powder

1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder

1 Teaspoon Mustard Powder

1/2 Teaspoon Smoked Paprika

Directions

  1. Combine all seasonings in a bowl and pour into a shaker (with large holes due to the Kosher Salt).
  2. Generously seasoning both sides of the burgers once they have sat out of the refrigerator for 20 minutes to come nearer room temperature.
