Easy (but delicious) Baked Beans

I have often found that the hard work and time devoted to making baked beans from scratch is a wasted effort when the tasty, and already prepared Bush’s beans, simple sit on the grocery stores shelves. I’ve worked on many recipes over the years and after experimenting multiple times in advance of a family gathering here in Kentucky, I finally arrived at the perfect blend to create truly easy and excellent baked beans.

Ingredients

1 28 ounces can of Bush’s Grillin Beans (Do Not Drain)

1 15 1/2 ounce can of Bush’s Pinto Beans (Drain)

1 15 1/2 Ounce can of Bush’s Cannellini Beans (Drain)

1/2 Pound of Good Smoked Bacon

1 Medium Sized Yellow Onion

1 Large Fresh Jalapeno Pepper

1/2 Cup of Good Maple Syrup

1/2 Cup of Ketchup

2 Tablespoons of Gochujang Sauce

1/4 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper

1/8 Teaspoon Garlic powder

1/3 Cup Dark Brown Sugar

2 Tablespoons Butter

Directions

1. Preheat Oven to 350 degrees.

2. Chop Bacon and cook until crisp. Drain on paper towel.

3. Sauté chopped Onion and chopped Jalapeño in butter until soft.

4. Mix all ingredients together in a baking dish.

5. Bake in oven for 1 1/2 hours until the edges become caramelized.
