As an old Chicago boy, I often miss some of the tastes of my first home. Since moving down south to Kentucky I searched for the classic Chicago style hot dog, and found it at Lonnies (121 St Matthews Ave, Louisville, KY). This is now our go to spot for dogs, Italian beef, polish sausage, you name it.

You’ll find it on a side street just off Shelbyville Road. It is a classic Chicago style small joint with some of the nicest people you will meet. Where else can you go for good Chicago style food, hot dogs with only mustard, celery salt, sport peppers on poopy seed buns, and find a picture of the Refrigerator William Perry on the wall?
