Good Bourbon?

We often refer to “good bourbon” in our Kentucky recipes. A few folks have asked just what that means.

Well we have some very special bourbons like those pictured here, such as the 23 Year Old Pappy’s Family Reserve, the Blanton’s or the Woodford signed by every Hall Of Fame Jockey. Those collectables are NOT the ones we refer to for cooking or drinking, and while there are many good bourbons we prefer two right now.

We use Woodford for most cooking and also like the 1792 Small Batch Bourbon. Both have a preferred flavor, with the 1792 having a distinct fruit and butterscotch flavor, while the Woodford has more of a caramel and oak flavor.

So there you have our favorites for drinking and cooking.
