“Best Outdoor and Best Burger” Captain’s Quarters (Louisville)

I think this is The Best Outdoor Lunch spot in Louisville and as crazy at it seems for a place that features more seafood type dishes than others, has The Best Burger and Fries we have found in the area. Yep, that’s right! We have tried burgers all over the area, and this one wins so far. (If you know of a better one, please let us know.) They have a burger, the Harrod’s Burger, made from brisket and short ribs on a Brioche bun, served with steakhouse type fries. That makes this a go to place when we are having a burger craving. You can find Captain’s Quarters at 5700 Captains Quarters Road in Prospect, a nice area Northeast just outside Louisville. It’s right on the river.

Be sure to ask to eat outside, most tables are nicely shaded, and the terraced deck gives everyone a pretty nice view of the river and boats. They have an extensive waterfront property so boats can dock right there, and it is very popular for summer luncheons. They do not take reservations for outside dining so keep that in mind if you show up on a busy weekend at prime time.

They also have live music outside Thursdays through Sunday evenings, and it’s a great place for a scenic river view, a fun atmosphere, a cocktail or two and some live music those evenings. Here’s a link to their website with a nice video. https://www.cqriverside.com/
