Madeline’s Nibbles and Wine (Great Food in La Grange)

After much searching, we have finally discovered a gem of a restaurant in our hometown of La Grange, Kentucky. Hannah and Carlos, who recently relocated from bustling Brooklyn, New York, have opened up Madeline’s Nibbles and Wine with a bang. Drawing on their extensive experience in the fast-paced world of the East Coast, they have crafted a small but exquisite menu that is sure to delight.

Executive Chef Carlos brings his impressive culinary skills to the table, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner options that are simply irresistible. And for a town like La Grange, finding such an accomplished chef is truly remarkable – something many locals have been yearning for for years. Trust us when we say this is a dining experience not to be missed.

Breakfast at Madeline’s is a true treat, with perfect sunny side up eggs cooked to perfection and served alongside savory fried potatoes, succulent sausage, and bread accompanied by a delectable fig jam. We have also found the charred romaine salad, the Italian meatballs, the mojo rojo, the mushroom dip, the shrimp scampi and the baked cod are also exceptional.

Hannah’s exceptional service only adds to the overall experience at Madeline’s. Whether you sit out on the back deck on a stunning Autumn day, or dine inside by the fireplace in this classic older establishment, you can’t help but feel truly transported. And as we continue to expand our list of recommended restaurants in Louisville, we are thrilled to add historic downtown La Grange to the top of the list. A charming main street dotted with quaint shops and even a train that runs right through it creates the perfect backdrop for your visit to Madeline’s where you can dine al fresco and truly savor every moment.

Lastly and recently, daughter Tara and I also found the perfect way to cap off a delicious dinner was with Madeline’s Blooming Tea. Never having had it before we found both the wait for the flower to open up in the teapot and the floral flavor charming and delightful.
